Drama Studio is pleased to announce we are offering Yoga classes!

Beginning Wednesday, September 19th

Yoga is a fantastic complement to theatre training, and a great stress relief class for our parents. DS Alum, Alyssa Guerin, is back from Thailand after completing her certification in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga. She will offer yoga sessions during Drama Studio classes, for students and parents alike, with workshops for kids TBA. Hope to see you in Alyssa's classes!

$10 per class

Ages 13 and up

Mondays 5:45-6:45pm

Wednesdays 7:15-8:15pm

Fridays 4:35-5:20pm & 5:35-6:20pm

While classes are drop-in and there’s no need for formal RSVP, as we get started we’d like to have an indication of interest. Please contact Alyssa at yoga@dramastudio.org to indicate which class you’d like to attend, and if there are any additional times you might prefer.

Beginners are welcome! Alyssa will have mats and props available but feel free to bring your own yoga mat, block, blanket or any other prop you like to use in your yoga practice.

About Alyssa

I discovered yoga about 10 years ago as a way to reduce stress and heal from an injury, never considering the profound impact it would have on my life. I have always found joy in movement, and I find the physical practice of yoga challenging and fun. But it was a few years into my practice that it started to take on a deeper meaning. It opens my heart, balances my emotions and encourages me to live life as my truest self. No matter where I am or what has happened, it welcomes me home without judgement. I love how I can come out of a class walking on air. That is the magic to me.

I completed my 200 hour Hatha Vinyasa training with Path of Yoga earlier this year in Chiang Mai, Thailand. My classes are a relaxing Vinyasa flow that encourage self-inquiry and growth through breath-based movement, meditation and pranayama (breathwork). I love to draw inspiration from music, nature, spirituality, human experiences and my first love: dance. My mission is to promote healing of all kinds by strengthening our bodies, hearts and minds, as well as the connection to one another.

In my spare time I enjoy being barefoot, belting out 90s pop songs in my car, petting any and all dogs and having spontaneous dance parties in kitchens far and wide.
