Acting Up: Summer Fun Stories
Can’t wait until age nine to start at Drama Studio? We are happy to offer Acting Up Summer Sessions, just for our youngest actors! We’ll have fun “acting up” through improv games, theatre play, stories-on-stage, and creative movement. We will bring our favorite stories from around the world to the stage. We will create our own original Stage Stories as well! Bring your imaginations!

The TeenScene Revue:
Combat, Comedy and Cabaret Songs!
This year’s TeenScene will produce an exciting Variety Show Revue! Get ready for one full week of exploring and creating Sketch Comedy, Stage Combat, Comedy Improv, Scenes, Monologues, and Songs with Steve for those who can’t get enough musical theatre during the year! Each actor will choose their focus, whether you want to dive into a Stage Combat intensive, explore the world of Musical Theatre training, write Scenes and Sketches, hone your Comedy Improv skills or sample all the Revue options as we get ready for the end of the week performance!

SOS: Stories on Stage
This summer program will be a true test of your improv and performing abilities! You will grow as an actor as you create an entire production of Story Theatre and Story Improv for younger audiences. You will gain character, improv, voice and performance skills as you bring your favorite stories to life, and turn the ‘page into stage.’ As part of Drama Studio's outreach program, our actors will perform for local pre-schools, to give Springfield students access to stories, poems, crucial literacy skills, and help unlock the joy of reading! We will also perform our Story Theatre Production piece for your family, friends and the younger students on Friday afternoon.

SummerSlam
Join us for another thrilling exploration of the Comedy Improv universe! During this exciting week, we’ll explore games, sketches, and long form improv! Learn to think on your feet and activate your imagination through the wonderful world of Comedy improvisation. This intensive will culminate in a hilarious improvised performance for family and friends.

Theatre of Transformation: Butterfly Week
Join us as we take flight with the return of one of Drama Studio’s most popular programs! Chrysalis, butterflies, cocoons will all be our inspiration to create theatre exploring the powerful theme of transformation. From profound to silly, realism to fantasy, we will create and stage scenes, monologues, mythology and choreography of both human and butterfly. For those who are tall enough, we will have the option of suspended choreography in our giant “cocoon” silks. We hope to have a butterfly release at the end of the week if the chrysalis cooperate! We will present a staged performance of your work on the final day. Come take wing with us for this magical week!
