This is a wonderful opportunity for adolescents with an interest in theatre and the arts to explore Drama Studio, meet our talented faculty, and take a free class. Our fall courses begin September 7, so come check us out and sign up!

We offer 20+ courses each semester, ranging in skill level from Intro to Acting, to Improvisation, Shakespeare, Musical Theatre, Stage Combat, Choreography, and more. In addition to classroom work, the Studio offers a wide range of acting opportunities for its students, including four full-length productions each year, an annual festival of original works, and our acclaimed touring program that visits local elementary schools. We strive to select works that speak to the adolescent experience.

About us: Founded in 1987, Drama Studio has provided a conservatory-style acting training program for young people in the Pioneer Valley region. Currently serving over 300 students ages 6-18, the Studio operates year-round in its space at 41 Oakland Street.

In addition to our courses and performances, we are launching the pilot program for our literacy project, TheaterReaders, this fall. In partnership with Springfield schools, we are bringing our conservatory-style curriculum to local elementary students. We've found that the study of theatre produces confident readers and expressive writers as it allows children to develop an emotional investment in literacy. Reading specialists and teachers alike are thrilled with our program and we are eager to see this initiative grow.

As a non-profit, tax exempt (503)(c) organization, we rely on community support, government and foundation grants, and partnerships with local businesses. If you are interested in advertising in our playbills or sponsoring our educational programs, please email carson@dramastudio.org
