Acting Up: Summer Fun Stories
Can’t wait until age nine to start at Drama Studio? We are happy to offer Acting Up Summer Sessions, just for our youngest actors! We’ll have fun “acting up” through improv games, theatre play, stories-on-stage, and creative movement. We will bring our favorite stories from around the world to the stage. We will create our own original Stage Stories as well! Bring your imaginations!

SOS: Stories on Stage
This summer program will be a true test of your improv and performing abilities! You will grow as an actor as you create an entire production of Story Theatre and Story Improv for younger audiences. You will gain character, improv, voice and performance skills as you bring your favorite stories to life, and turn the ‘page into stage.’ As part of Drama Studio's outreach program, our actors will perform for local pre-schools, to give Springfield students access to stories, poems, crucial literacy skills, and help unlock the joy of reading! We will also perform our Story Theatre Production piece for your family, friends and the younger students on Friday afternoon.

Mythology: Moving Meanings
Come join us for two wild and wonderful weeks of bringing mythology to the stage! Using stories and legends from the near and distant past, we will bring myths from around the world to life, and then create our own original mythology and meaning. We will use poetry, music, stories, movement, and lighting to create our ensemble theatre piece. This is a great opportunity to grow as an actor and experience many different styles and performance techniques. We will build to a final production that we will share with families on the final day. SummerSlam: Improv
Join us for another thrilling exploration of the Comedy Improv universe! During
this exciting week, we’ll explore games, sketches, and fully improvised plays! Learn to think on your feet and activate your imagination through the wonderful world of Comedy improvisation. This intensive will culminate in a hilarious improvised performance for family and friends.

TeenScene: Comedy Crash Course!
TeenScene takes on the world of improv and sketch comedy this summer! Join us for this exciting week of improv games, comedy sketches, and maybe even a musical improv option! We will study the art of the sketch through improvisation, scenes, and song or lyric writing options. The program will culminate in an improvised & Sketch Comedy revue written and performed by the students.
